"It’s (Harry Potter) enticing children to dabble more in the occult, to search out the occult. The point is the power of Harry Potter. It’s something that is addictive, it draws them in to darker powers, and into something that will ultimately destroy society."
Hey. I saw you post something about wanting a Michigan slut walk. Well, I just wanted to let you know that there are TWO Michigan Slut Walks. One in Detroit and one in Grand Rapids :)
if you know what someone’s going through. If she’s insecure and verbally abused by her father, it still hurts when she fucks your boyfriend. If her mother just died and she missed school for an emergency hospital visit, it still hurts when she lashes out and stops talking to you. If she’s oblivious to your feelings and just ended a relationship of two years, it still hurts when she uses you. If she’s pushed too hard by her parents and has constant mental breakdowns, it still hurts when she badmouths you and then forgets about you. If her parents never celebrate her birthday and no one seems to pay attention to her, it still hurts when you do pay attention and she ignores you. If she feels like everything in her life is so chaotic and she can’t take it anymore, it still hurts when you love her more than you love yourself and she just doesn’t give a damn. And what hurts the most is when you’re so depressed, so filled with hatred—both your own and what they’ve instilled in you— that you cut yourself because none of them listen. Because no one is there for you. You have no one to talk to because they’re all wrapped up in their own problems and you’re wrapped up in yours. And if anyone was on the outside looking in, it would all seem to simple. They’d pity these people you call your friends. But you can’t. Because they hurt you. And you’re in the middle of it just trying to survive. And no one else is going to take care of you, so you have to try and take care of yourself. And you think maybe they’re all doing the same thing, but you can’t help them because, as hard as you try, you can’t even help yourself really. It doesn’t matter what the burden is. We all have burdens. And we all bear them alone. We push people away and we deal with them. And in the end, that’s why we all die alone.
Fellow Nerdfighters, you may or may not be aware but there is a great possibility of a bill in Uganda to be passed withing the next 48 hours. This bill will outlaw LGBT and is a death sentence for everyone LGBT in Uganda. To read more and to sign a petition please go to www.allout.org/uganda.
Please spread the word. There’s only a few hours left!!!
I get so angry with people by watching the news and seeing all the bad that is happening throughout the world. But more so I get angry with myself because I know that I will never be able to fix all the problems… .
Organisms are made of cells; Nerdfighters are made of awesome . . .
Very tempted to explain on my AP Bio test how while most organisms are made of cells, Nerdfighters are made of awesome. :) I restrained myself though, and instead explained how the Holy Grail is hidden in my school’s library. What can I say? I had no idea. Biology isn’t my forte.
Recently there has been a lot of attention on Prince Harry. For the obvious reasons, of course, such as his brother’s marriage and his best man speech, but also he seems to have gained a lot of attention with the ladies. As one of the people who does appreciates Harry, I am often asked, “Why do you even like Harry? He’s the prince; he’s never going to marry you.” Perhaps he won’t, but here’s the thing: I don’t care.
I joke around and say I’m going to marry him. Why? He likes kids, he goes to Africa to work with children, he likes animals, he’s funny, and even though he is a kind-soul, he still knows how to have a ton of fun. And yeah, he is pretty attractive and the fact that I could then have a huge library doesn’t hurt either. He seems great. I’m not deluding myself when I say I’m going to marry him, so you can save that criticism; I also say I’m going to marry Fred Weasley and Edgar Allan Poe, a fictional character and a dead man. What I mean when I say I’m going to marry him is, “If I ever get married, I hope it’s to someone like Harry.” I’m eight years younger than him and an American who has never been to England (despite my desires), so of course we’ll probably never get married, we’ll probably never even met. There are those who say the only reason girls want to be with him is because he’s a prince. It may be why I know of him, but that’s about it. Honestly, that’s my least favorite thing about him. Think if you actually were with him and all the attention that would be on you. Look at what marrying a prince did to Diana. Paparazzi following you everywhere and the public criticizing you for everything you do.
Which kind of leads up to my next point. Can we stop hating on Chelsea Davy, because “she’s not that pretty?” I say more props to Prince Harry if she’s not. At least there’s one person who doesn’t judge women solely on their looks. Do women need more negative focus on how they look? Princess Di was bulimic. If the negative attentiton on how a women looks can drive Diana to that extreme, we certainly have gone overboard. Plus, while she may not be “Charlie Sheen Porn Goddess” pretty, she not exactly ugly. Not to mention, not everyone has the same taste. Believe it or not, not everyone finds Prince Harry attractive. If you’re going to say he shouldn’t be with her, come up with a better reason than “She’s not pretty.” Perhaps one that focuses on her personality and not how she looks.
This isn’t Hogwarts this is a concrete box, And the pictures on the wall are never gonna talk, And the teachers don’t care that the kids don’t try, And the most magical thing we have is fluorescent lights, And they don’t put you in Hufflepuff if your not cool, Instead they sort you in the parking lot after school, And I think if I looked into the Mirror of Erised, I’d be wearing wizard robes of gold and red, I’m not sayin’ I’m not proud to be a nerd, But public school ain’t no place for a wizard
